Your First Dental Visit
At Pearl Smile Dental, our dental staff is committed to providing each patient with positive, effective dental treatment. To help your visit go smoothly, we have compiled a list of important items and information to bring with you for your first appointment, as well as a description of what to expect during your visit.
What to Expect:
Your initial appointment will consist of a comprehensive examination that will involve a review of your health and dental conditions. Typically this appointment involves:
- Comprehensive exam
- Charting existing conditions
- Examination with intra oral Camera
- Digital X-rays
- Review of your dental need
- oral cancer screening.
After your examination we will explain your diagnosis and treatment optionsand schedule you for your first cleaning. Some patients receive a standard cleaning to thoroughly cleanse all surfaces of the teeth of plaque and other buildup. Other patients may require a more intensive treatment to address cavities, tooth pain, diseased gums, or other dental problems. With your x-rays and complete evaluation, Dr. Ishita Shah can prescribe the treatment necessary to optimize your dental health.
Our Office uses Digital Xray which provde sharp clear image right on our computer screen. These images required up to 90% lessradiation then conventional film type xray. Each image can be magnified and enhanced to reveal hidden problems.
We use high resultion, wireless intra-oral camera, allowing doctor to use video as a diagnostic tool. You can watch the video live during diagnosis. This camera magnifies images, allowing us to spot potential problems like cracked fillings, fractures in teeth, and beginning of decay. With this revolutionary tool, we can provide early diagnosis of small problems before they become larger problems.
